Eunice's introduction

I am the Chief Operating Officer of Ecoworks, a venture eliminating single-use plastic waste in home care by enabling consumers to refill. We deploy smart refill stations in residential areas so that consumers can reuse existing bottles to purchase cleaning detergents — consumers need the detergent, not the packaging.

Top 3 pieces of advice to The Matcha Initiative (TMI) users ?
  • Avoid single-use plastic F&B packaging to reduce your likelihood of consuming microplastics (just remember your reusables!).
  • At work, when convincing stakeholders to make greener choices, make sure that the cost-benefit analysis is presented clearly.
  • When driving behavioural change towards greener habits, break down the change into small incremental steps so that it is more manageable (applies to both life & work contexts).
How could you help TMI users ?

I am happy to share my experiences working with grassroots and engaging consumers to drive a new movement.

Expertise in the following
What brought you to sustainability?

About 7 years ago, I got my wake-up call to the environmental challenges we are facing. While learning to surf at a beach in the region, I found myself paddling through trash — bottles and packaging were floating alongside me. This moment sparked my search for more sustainable ways to live. ✨

I had the privilege of learning about sustainability in my previous work and today, I’m proud to be able to integrate my personal commitment with my professional work by advancing sustainable living at Ecoworks. 🙌

Which sustainable actions are you in charge of or have you implemented in your organisation?

I have been involved in crafting a sustainable business model and facilitating partnerships at Ecoworks.

Which challenges did you meet and how did you overcome them?

When introducing a new concept, you get more NO's than a simple YES. I've overcome the rejections by applying an empathetic lens in discussions, and working to achieve a win-win outcome for everyone. I also acknowledge small wins' value in paving the way for bigger wins.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of getting grassroot-level support to host and advocate for our refill station.
