Edmund's introduction

I’m Edmund Chong, a business owner and marketer who helps founders and brands turn ideas into clear, effective growth strategies. I studied clean energy and remain actively involved in sustainability, serving as Vice President of Public Relations at the Human Impact Toastmasters Club.

I work with businesses that value clarity, traction, and long-term impact over hype. I built Venturestudio to bridge strategy and execution, helping brands communicate better, grow responsibly, and build something that lasts.

Top 3 pieces of advice to The Matcha Initiative (TMI) users ?

  • Build a strong and meaningful brand
How could you help TMI users ?

As a Buddy, I can support users by sharing practical, experience-based guidance on building and communicating sustainability-driven ideas. Through Venturestudio, I work with early-stage founders and purpose-led teams, and I can help users clarify their mission, translate sustainability values into clear messaging, and prioritise actions with limited resources.

I would be most helpful on questions around sustainability communication, early-stage marketing strategy, brand positioning, and founder mindset. My goal is to provide clear, focused advice that helps users move forward without unnecessary complexity.

Expertise in the following
What brought you to sustainability?

I originally studied Clean Energy Management because I was drawn to how engineering could solve real-world problems at scale. Energy wasn’t just a technical subject to me, it was about how cities function, how resources are consumed, and how our choices today shape the future we live in tomorrow. Through my studies, I began to see how deeply sustainability is connected to everyday systems: electricity, housing, transport, and even business decisions.

As I moved into entrepreneurship and marketing, that awareness didn’t disappear. Instead, it evolved. I realised sustainability isn’t only about solar panels or technology — it’s about mindset, systems, and long-term thinking. The same short-term thinking that harms the environment also harms businesses, people, and communities.

That’s why I remain actively involved in sustainability today, including my role in Human Impact Toastmasters. It allows me to keep the conversation alive, sharpen how I communicate these ideas, and encourage others to think beyond immediate gains. Sustainability, to me, is about building responsibly. Whether that’s in energy, business, or the way we influence others.

Which sustainable actions are you in charge of or have you implemented in your organisation?

I help grow Human Impact Toastmaster Club from an active 5 person team to monthly meeting of 20~30pax sharing their expertise in this field whether its a water treatment expert, nature guide sharing, and farming specialist.

Which challenges did you meet and how did you overcome them?

How to make a public speaking club get attention, with many other Toastmaster club out there, we needed to be different, to stand out. So we targeting mainly environmental specialist in their field to do a free sharing with us and also meet with other like minded individual. This boasted the club growth tremendously.

What are you most proud of?

I would never expect to grow Human Impact Toastmaster Club to where it is today. Im proud to know other members are now actively bring their own friends to share insights.
